Balos beach wordt wel het mooiste strand van Kreta, Griekenland en de Middellandse Zee genoemd. Het witte zandstrand ligt in het uiterste noordwesten van Kreta op het schiereiland Gramvousa. De lagune ligt in een komvormige baai en het verbindt het schiereiland met een dunne strook wit (vrij hard) zand met het eilandje Tigani.
